Michael Tuchin
Michael L. Tuchin is a member and co-manager of Klee, Tuchin, Bogdanoff & Stern LLP, one of the premier business reorganization and corporate insolvency boutique law firms in the country. Mr. Tuchin graduated with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. He received his J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1990. He served as extern to the Honorable Joseph R. Sneed, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in 1989. Mr. Tuchin has represented debtors, equity holders, secured and unsecured creditors, and parties interested in acquiring assets from troubled companies.
Mr. Tuchin was named one of the top 12 outstanding young bankruptcy lawyers in the nation in 2002, 2003 and 2004 by a national publication for turnaround professionals, was honored as the Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year by the Century City Bar Association for 2002-2003, was recognized by the Daily Journal as one of the top 20 young lawyers in the State of California, and was named by Los Angeles Magazine as one of the top 100 lawyers in Los Angeles County in 2004 and 2005.
Mr. Tuchin is extremely active in bar activities. He is a past President and a member of the Board of Governors of the Financial Lawyers Conference of Los Angeles, President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, and a member of the Board of Directors of the California Bankruptcy Forum. He has co-authored articles on single asset real estate cases and successor liability and is an Editor of the California Bankruptcy Journal.
Mr. Tuchin serves on the National Executive Committee of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the Board of Directors (and the Executive Committee) of the Jewish Federation Council, the Board of Trustees of University Synagogue, and the Board of Directors of Youth Mentoring Connection.
Mr. Tuchin is married to Meryl Shapiro-Tuchin, an ophthalmologist at Jules Stein Eye Institute. They have two children—Jordan (5 years old) and Jessica (2 years old).
