Youth Mentoring Connection is a California based non-profit organization dedicated to transforming young lives through one-on-one connections between adults and "at-risk" youth.

In the Community
Statewide and National Presence
Youth Mentoring Connection has a close working relationship with the Governor's Mentoring Partnership (GMP)... a statewide program created by Governor Davis' administration.

Tony LoRe is working with GMP and Accenture (formerly Anderson Consulting) to help develop a statewide database to more closely and scientifically track the results of mentoring efforts throughout the state. He has also been a feature presenter for the California Mentor Summit in each of the three years since it's inception and National Mentor Summit at the Disneyland Hotel in October of 2001.

We have other relationships with prestigious organizations such as The Harvard Mentoring Project to help promote mentoring on a nationwide basis.

Technical Assistance
We are also called upon to help youth services organizations throughout Southern California start new mentoring programs, or improve upon programs already in operation.

We offer assistance in every aspect of mentoring, including: Program Development, Volunteer Recruitment, Mentor Matching, Screening & Training, Program Evaluation, Life Skills Workshops, Support and Troubleshooting.

Over the past three years Tony has helped dozens of youth services agencies representing thousands of kids. One such participant recently commented, "We have learned more about helping kids from you in the last three hours than we have anywhere else in the last three years."

Our kids are making a difference in the community, too:

"I am able to carry the mentoring experience with me and influence other people. People and gangster friends look up to me, and they want to have the same opportunities that I have and had. They are interested and have opened their minds to what I have to talk about."

Our Kids Are In Trouble
Today, there are more than 14 million youth under 18 who are "at risk".

They're Crying Out For Help
America's youth, desperate for guidance, are discovering mentoring.

Mentors Are The Answer
A small time committment can have a big impact on a kid's life.
