Work Site Mentoring: Rhino Entertainment

Mentors: Rhino Entertainment

Mentees: Belmont High School Academy of Performing Arts

Overview: Belmont High School students are bussed to Warner Strategic Marketing twice a month where they spend two hours with employee volunteers as their mentors. These sessions are a combination of Life Skills Workshops conducted and designed by YMC staff, group projects, one-on-one meetings between mentee and mentor and guest speakers. In addition to the worksite sessions; group outings (bowling, ball games, plays, etc.) are organized by YMC staff for weekends. Further activities include Job Shadow Days and Summer Internships. Finally, mentors spend quality time with their mentees in the community on their own. They take them to museums, invite them to family functions, etc.

"I'm glad that at least part of my work is devoted to something meaningful beyond quarterly earnings and end of the year billing."
- WSM Mentor

"This program has taught me how to set goals and how to keep them. It has also taught me that there are still some trustworthy people out there."
- WSM Mentee
